Select "My AOL", and then click on "Preferences" from the menu. (Fig. 1)

The "Preferences" dialog box will appear. Click the "WWW" button. (Fig. 2)

The "Internet Options" dialog box will appear next, click the "Web Graphics" tab and UNCHECK the "Use compressed graphics" checkbox, then click "Apply". (Fig. 3)

Next, click the "General" tab and change "Days to keep pages in history" to "0" (zero), then click "Apply". Next, click the "Delete Files" button to clear the cache. Depending on your version of Internet Explorer, you may see a checkbox to "Delete all offline content". If you do, check this box to delete web site files currently stored on your computers hard drive. To avoid this from happening in the future, click "Settings" and then click the circle next to "Every visit to the page". (Fig. 4)

After you have completed these four steps, you should quit and restart the America Online program.
